Garlic Magic November 3, 2008 RSTJA (Los Angeles, CA) 26 out of 26 found this review helpful
This tiny skillet fits in the palm of your hand. I wasn't too sold on it until I found the ultimate use for it. Roasting garlic.
You fill the tiny pan with peeled cloves of raw garlic, shoot in some olive oil and a pinch of salt, and put it on low heat. The garlic cooks in the tiny oil bath yielding awesome roasted garlic, as well as delicious garlicy olive oil.
I'm buying these for stocking stuffers this year.
great for breakfast sandwich January 23, 2009 D. L. Brame (Kentucky USA) 17 out of 17 found this review helpful
The reason I ordered this item was so I could prepare sausage, whipped eggs and biscuit sandwiches for breakfast on the go. These little beauties are the perfect size. Just line them up on the burner, pour in the eggs, and cook on low/med heat. The sausage can either be pressed into and cooked in the miniature skillets as well, or used the skillets as a press so the sausage will be the same size as the egg. Cook while you bake the biscuits. This and a small slice of cheese and you have a mouth full of heaven on the way to work. Sure, it's a specialty item and probably not one you'd use for everything...but then again that's part of the fun of cooking. BTW, love the garlic idea
The Lodge Mini Skillet December 2, 2007 Ms Dott 21 out of 22 found this review helpful
I love miniature items...this skillet is perfect for spoon rest, wall
decoration and perfectly fine for cooking.
My grandchildren love the personal cornbread serving. perfect for their
tiny hand...it's not quite as deep as a muffin tin.
When the price is right, I intend to order 8 more for a cool dozen!

Great item! February 7, 2008 Michael J. Jones (Hewitt, TX USA) 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
I bought it for use in melting butter or margarine in the kitchen. It's perfect for that, but would also make a nice ash tray (ugh) or accent with other country kitchen decor items. Very nice.
Great for tadka February 8, 2009 mona (usa) 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
I bought this item exclusively for making tadka (spices tempered in oil in Indian cooking). This is very small, the perfect size for one batch of tadka dal with 1-2 tsp of cumin or mustard seeds (and maybe some curry leaves, haven't tried yet). It takes up practically no space in my space-challenged kitchen, so I don't feel guilty about using it for just one purpose, as an experienced cook once told me to do. It heats very evenly and quickly, and I just wipe it out with a paper towel while it's still warm. I think it's pre-seasoned (looks that way) but I couldn't find that information on the Lodge site. It's very inexpensive and will last forever!
