| Customer Reviews: Works great, no problems September 8, 2009 Gene Wu 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I have not had an issue unlike the other reviewers here. At the time of this writing, my GE bulb has been used in a floor lamp for about three and a half months. It goes on almost every night. The bulb has been great for me since it allows me to add a lot more light to the room while using much less power than an incandescent 100 W bulb. Please be aware that it's quite a bit larger and more than an inch taller than a regular CFL bulb.
Great bulbs! October 30, 2009 Andy C. Wang I am pleased with the quick and prompt delivery of the light bulbs. The products came in great shape and work well! Thanks for all that you do!
Don't believe any of the hype. July 31, 2009 Randall Kesterson (Portland, OR USA) 9 out of 13 found this review helpful
I have a lamp where I use a 150 watt bulb. I know that's a lot, but the lamp is built for it and I need a lot of light there. I didn't realize they made a T4 bulb with a 150 Watt equivalent. When I read the bullets, especially "Guaranteed to last 8 years based on 4 hours use per day at 120V" I thought, why not try it. My 150 bulbs usually only last a few months. This could be cool. So I ordered one. Just to see. I saw. It lasted 8 days. And I seldom had it on more than four hours a day.
Don't waste your money. It's too bad too, because it really did seem the equivalent of a 150 Watt bulb.
Bulb burns out after just a few hours of use August 19, 2009 Marina Guy (Los Angeles, CA USA) 2 out of 12 found this review helpful
It is unbelievable that GE would manufacture such a defective product. My GE "Energy Smart" 3-way bulb (50-100-150 equivalent) burned out after just a few hours of use. I learned that mine was not an isolated case--early failure is all too common with this bulb. Apparently this was a consequence of rush to manufacture to meet expected demand. GE should issue a mea culpa statement on this and issue a recall. They have seriously subverted a Green Movement initiative that could have greatly reduced our collective carbon emissions and saved millions of barrels of oil. SHAME ON GE!
